I thought this was coming out in 2017, but here is my poem "The Last Word" (an homage to Colin Clive) in the winter issue of Kaleidotrope.

It feels good to see the year out with the publication of a monster movie poem, despite the dread of Looming Trump.

Also, it is Patti Smith's 70th birthday. I am deeply grateful for Patti's continued presence in the world. Seeing her perform at the Hollywood Bowl in October (so long ago, it seems!) with Lyman was one of the highlights of my year.

Jim! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oxJmvSpap0

I love how we have Lou, all NYC street cool in black and black leather(?) pants, Jim burning up like Verlaine in sweatpants and white sneakers, and Bob Quine absolutely shredding it in a buttoned-up buttondown, sports coat and dress shoes. He doesn't even fully face the audience. -- And the pianist, who's also shredding it, borrowed a shirt from Jimmy Buffet.

and let us not forget one of my favourite cross-cultural pollinations ever, when Jim appeared in a TEEN MOVIE WITH RDJ AND JAMES SPADER (which was great even before AoU)

Congratulations! That is a good Colin Clive poem.

Oh, thank God, what a nice way to get to mention an artist I like.

I like this poem very much. Wrapping these two excellent but kinda thankless roles together makes perfect sense when you put it like this. That was touching.
