RIP Jonathan Frid

I had no idea when I posted yesterday about the 45th anniversary of Jonathan Frid's first appearance on Dark Shadows that Frid had passed away. I just saw the news this morning:

Darks Shadows Star Jonathan Frid Dead at 87

So sad...but I'm glad I managed to see him at a couple of the Dark Shadows Festivals in Burbank in recent years.

My friend and I went to see him in Mass Appeal. I was so glad to finally see him perform and talk to him a bit.

How great! At the Dark Shadows Festival appearances I saw, they played some of his clips and Frid commented on them. Also at one of the festivals, John Karlen opened a coffin and Frid came out (though Karlen had to help him out of the coffin!).

How I envy you for being able to see him! He was one of my first crushes (if not my first).
