I'm in a super-morose Monday mood, for no apparent reason other than my usual Sunday night insomnia. But then I find out that today is the worst day of the year! So I guess misery loves company...

I'm feeling morose too -- I'm so glad there's a reason. ;-)

I'm feeling crappy and pre-menstrual, but I'll share what's left of the mint choc ice cream with the pair of you.

Heee. No wonder my instincts were screaming 'stay in bed Linney, stay in bed' this morning.
At least the day is 2/3rds over here. I hope yours flies by quickly and with a minimum of misery.

I'm very amused by the formula in that article for calculating the relative miserableness of any particular day. Hee.

The sardine/lemon/caper toast is a a great antidote to midwinter blahs. It tastes like sunshine. It's a bit finnicky as it takes a while to get all the skin off each section of lemon and remove the seeds and so on, but it's really worth it.

I sympathize. I couldn't get to sleep last night either--knowing I had to get up at 7:15 to return to work for the first time after 6 weeks ... and after sleeping until 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, which wasn't too wise.

It is! Not, of course, that it was 6 weeks of vacation--it was 4 weeks of ordeal and 2 weeks of recuperating from the ordeal--but still, it's shocking to be tethered back here to a desk again.

There's seriously a FORMULA for determining misery? I must send this to my mathmetician father to see whether he gets the humor.

Oh. My. God.

::hugs you for your misery:: it's okay. It'll get better. Here, let me send you a bunch of books about depression--that will help. I'd settle for lunch at Trader Vic's, me.

I was wondering...have you read "Ice Age" by Margaret Drabble?

If you could get back to me ASAP, that'd be great. I'm terribly sorry for barging in on your journal like this, but I have a project due on it in a few days, and the local bookstores don't carry it. I was stupid enough to not check into that beforehand, and am now in a mess. If you have read it and could spare just a little time to even give a summary of the plot or anything like it, I would be most appreciatve. Or if you knew somewhere I could find one, but so far I've had no luck.

Thank you and sorry again,
Dax
