Otto Preminger OMG!
I had forgotten how much I liked early Barry/Delia. I think Randall Edwards has a lot more chemistry with Richard Backus than she has with Ron Hale (or any other guy on the show except, of course, her one-time husband Roscoe Born). And I love Barry's dialogue about the magic of the Crystal Palace. In some ways Barry is a prototype for Claire Labine's later creation, rock manager Lois Cerullo on General Hospital.
I squeed at Delia's dream sequence today, especially when Otto Preminger showed up and dissed Roger: "Your wounded busboy has escaped from the kitchen." Heeee! I wonder if Preminger was a fan of the show? And then on the second episode, Uncle Junior! A year or so before his stint as Uncle Fruity (Vartova, I think was the fruit-obsessed mobster's name?).
