Doctor Who - The Long Game

Man, that was shippy. Adam's brief presence merely seems to have further cemented the Doctor/Rose relationship. Probably my favorite moment was when they were in the elevator and the Doctor said, "Looks like it's just you and me," and Rose said, "Yeah," and he said, "Good," and they smiled and held hands as the door closed...

While I was glad (and a little surprised) that Adam got the heave ho so quickly, I was much more intrigued by him as a character when he turned out to be so flawed. I loved that he went ahead with the Gunn-esque brain thingy - and I loved the Doctor's horror at this, and that both the Doctor and Rose agreed he wasn't worth keeping on. Actions, consequences.

Not as intense an ep as last week, but very satisfying.

Video Journeys has Doctor Who VHS tapes! I rented The Five Doctors...

Spoilery comments for The Long Game, don't look, don't look!

Yes, yes, yes. I couldn't believe they got shot of Adam just like that! I thought he was going to be around forever, being the 'token love interest who is Rose's age in flagrant disregard of the much more interesting dynamic Rose has with the Doctor'!! But... no! OMG, it is SO shippy now. I can't believe it. The villain was pretty silly (kept seeing him in his role on 'Spaced'), but the Doctor/Rose stuff was very good. I'm glad they're still building on that relationship - and not even bothering to be subtle about it! LOL.

Only recurrent criticism is, Rose seems to be taking to all the weirdness/danger with *no* freakout whatsoever, even when it looks as though she's about to become lunch/cannon fodder. I'm sorry, but there are very few 19 (or 90) year olds who would take that in their stride! But hey. *g*
