henna day + noveling
Aug. 9th, 2009 01:41 pmLast night and this morning I'd been pondering various plot/structural matters of the latter part of the Jo book, and not coming up with the answers I needed.. Then, when I was putting henna on my hair just now, a whole conversation between Jo and Martin popped into my head, which I typed up when henna-ing was achieved--and now I know more or less how to proceed with chapter 16. Thank you, back brain!
On an ickier note: this morning I went out to the place where I put the Garage Kitty's food and discovered a bazillion ants running riot. Ordinarily the kitty eats most or all of what I give her, so ants don't go to town, but she'd left most of last night's Fancy Feast (it wasn't a kind she particularly likes, but I'd bought it by accident) and the ants descended. I put on rubber gloves and attempted to clean up the mess, and then when I fed her again I put the dish as far away from the remaining ants as I could, but ICK. Does anybody know any non-toxic ant repellents I can use outdoors?
This weekend I've been watching Dark Shadows (though I am tempted to watch some of TCM's Cary Grant marathon), reading the London Review of Books and NANA vol. 17. I want to get back to reading The Grand Sophy, which I'm about halfway through.
