Yikes, I haven't posted in a week (though I've been tweeting). I haven't been receiving my LJ comment notifications--hope that will change soon.

I was saddened to hear of Diana Wynne Jones's death yesterday. Fire and Hemlock is one of my very favorite books.

This afternoon I went to the Music Center to see Britten's opera of The Turn of the Screw. A marvelous production (the kid who played Miles was particularly good), though we were in the nosebleed seats.

Tonight for dinner I made angel hair pasta with kale, mini heirloom tomatoes, sundried tomato chicken sausage, and parmesan. And it was GOOD.

Whoops, I forgot to post about my LJversary. I first got a LiveJournal account in December 2002, mainly drawn to it by Buffy fandom. I had no idea how many wonderful, lasting friendships I would make. Even though I post here less frequently than I used to (drawn by the lure of Twitter!), LJ is still very important to me.

Yay, Doctor Who The Creature from the Pit is gonna come out on DVD!!!

Meanwhile, LJ is not sending me comment notifications. ::shakes LJ::

LJ appears to be eating my comment notifications. I would like them back!

A couple of recent RaceFail '09 posts that resonate for me: what ought to go without saying but doesn't and It turns out, in the end, I do have something to say about RaceFail 2009. And one that I find heartbreaking to read: Operating in hostile territory.

And here is the donation page for [livejournal.com profile] verb_noire.

I don't expect the LJ sky to fall, but in case it does, I can be found at MySpace and Twitter, and, for that matter, my own website. (I keep meaning to create a Facebook account, but it keeps not happening...)

Wow, LJ's acting wonky. I guess everyone in the universe is accessing the site in the aftermath of Deletegate?

I'm glad the 6A CEO apologized, though I'd still love to know how they managed to screw up so spectacularly. I'm not feeling very trusting of 6A and LJ, but I'm not planning to go elsewhere at the moment. I will be watching to see if all the comms deleted in error are in fact restored. It's good to know that 6A apparently sees fandom on LJ as a force to be reckoned with. I hope that is enough to keep LJ from pulling this kind of crap in the future.

I'd been off-line since last Thursday, so I'm still catching up on the whole LJ deletions thing, but...they deleted a comm that discussed LOLITA? Wow, it really takes brains.

I can't stop boggling.
