Courtesy of welovesoaps.com: RYAN'S HOPE Is a New Yorker's Fantasy (a 1976 article from the New York Times)
On this week's Ryan's Hope...
JACK: There's a kind of path between us. It's just there. You understand me. But we can be close without playing with fire.
SIOBHAN: Sohow do we not wind up in bed together what do we do now?
JACK: One, we meet in crowded rooms. Two, I spend as much time as possible with Mary and Ryan. Three, you meet an attractive, single, lucky guy.
SIOBHAN: [laughs ruefully] First thing tomorrow.
The very next episode:
JACK: This is Joe Novak.
JOE: [flirty flirt flirt]
SIOBHAN: Hi. [ten years of Siobhan/Joe storylines commence]
GWYNNEGA: Ey yi yi. Jack should have added that Siobhan ought to have CHEMISTRY with the attractive, single, lucky guy. Richard Muenz ain't no Roscoe Born.
While there are many things to like about this upcoming storyline, one of those things is not the relationship between Joe #1/Siobhan #1. There is never a minute when I believe Sarah Felder's Siobhan loves Richard Muenz's Joe and not Jack. Joe mostly has chemistry with his Uncle Tiso, though he also has a fair bit of chemistry with Maeve, Jack and Nicolette Goulet's Mary. But not with Siobhan! Fortunately there's plenty of Jack/Siobhan to keep me going through this storyline...
