soapy stuff

Clips of Ned/Lois, my favorite couple from the Claire Labine years on General Hospital, have started to show up on YouTube. In this clip, Ned spins a whopper of a tale about his mother Tracy to Lois and her mom in Brooklyn, and in this one, Ned's double life (as CEO Ned Ashton and rock star Eddie Maine) is starting to catch up with him. Wally Kurth and Rena Sofer were a RL couple at the time, and it shows. God, I miss Sofer as Lois Cerullo, one of GH's most intelligent and vibrant characters (and probably my favorite Labine heroine besides Sarah Felder's Siobhan Ryan), and god I wish Labine were still in charge over there...

Meanwhile, I've really been enjoying the Daytime Confidential podcasts. Hosts Luke and Lisa cover all the current daytime soaps. I don't always agree with them, but their passion for the genre, their humor, and their contempt for the crap that often winds up on screen these days make them entertaining listening.
