I'm completely preoccupied with politics, so I will post about soaps again...

After our beautiful autumn weekend, we're having another blast of late summer (not to mention wildfires). A typical frustrating October in LA. Meanwhile it is freezing in my office.

Here's an interview with Sri Rao, the brilliant head writer of S2 General Hospital Night Shift. I loathed the Bob Guza-penned S1 GH NS with a passion, and I groaned when I found out the show was getting a second season--but Sri Rao (whose favorite all-time show is My So-called Life) has really turned the series around. S2 is uneven, but its highs have been higher than I could have imagined. ( Robert and Anna 4EVAH! )
