RIP Jim Carroll

Damn. I was never a big fan of Jim Carroll's music, but I once saw him do a spoken word performance at Beyond Baroque (in 1992?), and he was marvelous and very funny. I loved his book Forced Entries: The Downtown Diaries, 1971-1973 and his spoken word CD Praying Mantis.
