but, satisfyingly, Liz manages to rescue herself by forcing Philip to read his daughter's diary. This makes him unravel completely, whereupon she takes the room key from him and is just opening the front door of the mansion when her friends show up to save her.
This sounds like an incredible thriller nested inside a soap. I'd never heard of either the actor or the show. Now I'm wondering if I can find it.
