Lots of great stuff on this week's RH. Even though I love Mary/Tom, I adored the scenes of Jack beginning to realize what a mistake he's made re: Mary and Ryan. Hilarious scene with Drunk!Jack on the phone at the subway station, wincing every time a train sped by, and Maeve's laughter when Jack compared Johnny to the walrus at Coney Island. Heeee.
But it made me kinda sad seeing the sweet Tom/Mary scenes, knowing that Mary's gonna go back to Jack. Heck, in a couple of years both Mary and Tom will be dead--two of the only major characters on the show ever to die.
I'd forgotten how hot Roger/Rae were when they first started hanging out. And I love the "power broker" scenes with Rae and Bill Woodard and Frank. And yay, the introduction of Polly Longworth!
Meanwhile, Ilene Kristen managed to make me feel sorry for Delia, when her crazy act got her stuck in the locked ward on tranks...
On this week's GH, amid pointless mobsters and violence galore, and poor Genie Francis stuck in a thankless storyline (I think she's going to get to interact with other cast members at some point, but damn, a whole month of scenes only with Lulu?), there were such wonderful Spinelli/Maxie scenes. It seems like a miracle, having such intelligent, heartfelt, genuinely romantic scenes amid the crapola. Spinelli/Maxie are old-school GH at its best.

Date: 2008-09-13 12:42 pm (UTC)I keep thinking, with Genie's scenes, how ridiculous it is. They covered their asses (lamely) with the whole "I go in and out of catatonia" at the start, which just really pisses me off since once they are done with her, she'll conveniently be put back there until they want to trot her out into lucidity, acting like things are perfectly normal, skulking around corners at the asylum to avoid family.
