thankful for GH

A year ago, I wrote about the sorry state General Hospital was in. Between dismal writing and cast departures, I had a palpable sense of what was left of GH's soul leaving the building. It seemed inevitable that ABC would let the show run itself into the ground. But what I didn't know then was that Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini would soon helm the show and revitalize it. It took them some time to repair the damage of previous regimes, but it is now fully the show I grew up with and enjoyed so much for so many years, the show that will soon celebrate its fiftieth anniversary.
Yesterday and today GH beautifully memorialized the late John Ingle and the character he played since the '90s, Edward Quartermaine (and I wept buckets):
