gwynnega: (Doctor/Rose hug ellie79)

Whoa. That was one of the best hours of television I've ever seen. I was spoiled, but I don't feel as if it spoiled anything for me - I laughed, I cried lots (and then cried again during Confidential).

When Jack kissed both Rose and the Doctor, I couldn't have loved him more - it was such a sweet, utterly sincere and ungimmicky moment. And then I adored his bravado when cornered by the Daleks, his "bring it on" stance just before they fired on him.

The Dalek carnage scenes were chilling (aside from the hilarious Ann Droid bit). I loved how the minor characters were given their due before their deaths (especially that guy with the crush on his colleague).

Rose's grief at being left behind just killed me, and I loved Mickey and her mum helping her to get back to the Doctor.

The kiss!!! ::swoons:: RTD is so damn smart. He figured out a way to make that kiss both the emotional payoff for the Doctor/Rose ship and also completely integral to the story.

And that last scene between the Doctor and Rose was perfection. Much as I love Jack, I was glad the season ended with the two of them alone.

Feeling quite rung out, and quite grateful for these beautiful 13 episodes. Now to go read what everybody else thought of it...

I promptly grabbed a carton of ice cream and sat in a chair with a spoon for fifteen minutes to console myself.

*sniffle*
