Dec. 28th, 2002 02:04 pmAs usual on a Saturday, I have lots to do today, but instead I keep puttering around. Watched Buffy "Superstar" this morning, which has more resonance for me now after "Conversations With Dead People." I'm happy with the current Buffy spoilers, except it seems like forever before the new episodes will start to air!
Today I need to go around the corner to the xerox place to run off a copy of my poetry manuscript for my friend D., go back to Wacko (which will doubtless not be a zoo today like it was before Christmas) and buy an appointment calendar already, maybe drop off a bag of books (that I've managed to glean from my already overstuffed bookshelves) at my friend Natalie's bookstore, call a friend who's in town from London, etc. For some reason small tasks feel monumental to me during the holiday season, when all I want to do is lounge around. I really need to get cracking on my grad school applications - tomorrow probably.
Meanwhile I've been working on my new vampire story, which is fun but at that beginning stage where I feel like I'm juggling a thousand variables, trying to figure out which ones to go with. Still, it's nice to be working on fiction again.
