My friend and MFA teacher Dodie Bellamy's The Buddhist. The book comes from a series of blog entries Dodie wrote in the aftermath of a relationship breakup. She spins off from this into meditations on loss, class, writing, desire, shame...I read the blog as she was posting it, and I'm enjoying the book version a lot.
Virginia Woolf, The Waves.
What did you just finish reading
Kate Zambreno's Heroines, which I've written about in previous weeks. Loved it.
What will you read next?
I don't know, but I'm getting a hankering to read Violette Leduc again. Also Colette.
