This weekend I did some noveling. Chapter 14 is nearly done, and I'll need to do some pondering/planning/research before I proceed to the next chapter. Also I finished reading A Civil Contract by Georgette Heyer (loved loved loved it, and searched unfruitfully for fanfic) and read the latest volume of NANA (vol. 16, I think?). Watched Dark Shadows, in which Kate Jackson wandered around Collinwood being a malevolent ghost in a beautiful 19th-century dress. And I watched another documentary about Vietnam protests (for Jo book research), The War at Home which, to my surprise, was mostly focused on Madison! Quite startling to see giant demonstrations at the university and on State Street, since I was just in Madison. Excellent film.

One of my favorite ever eps of RH reaired today, in which Siobhan tries to cheer up grouchy Jack at the hospital and then he ends up cheering HER up. Then Wes Leonard turns up with flowers for Jack! A clip from the ep is below, but it doesn't include this hilarious exchange:

Wes: I'm going to write a series of articles, including one devoted to you, Jack, the hero reporter.

Jack: Great. You get a Pulitzer, and I get a busted head.

Wes: Wouldn't that be ironic?

Siobhan: ANYWAY...

Jack: Anyway what??

Siobhan: I don't know, it just seemed like the thing to say.

Oh, how I love them. Jack-in-the-hospital was the point at which I started saving Jack/Siobhan scenes, during the last go round. Such great stuff is coming up, too.

Hurrah for your noveling progress -- and for finishing A Civil Contract. :-) (I confess that I'm not interested in Heyer fanfic, but I'm interested to learn what you're looking for! [grin])

There seems to be quite a bit of Heyer fanfic, but I couldn't find any for A Civil Contract. I wanted to read some Adam/Jenny fic! :-)

There's a fair bit of slash fic for These Old Shades, but while I'm sure you'll like the book I know slash isn't your cup of tea...

I do enjoy slash, but I haven't read These Old Shades yet! (But I intend to.) If there's fic out there for A Civil Contract, though, it hasn't made itself readily apparent to me...
