pre-Writercon post

This afternoon I got together with my old friend Cecil Castellucci at Coffee Table to talk about a couple of upcoming Interstitial Arts events in LA (which I will post more about when I get home from Writercon).
I'm mostly packed for Writercon. The airport shuttle's supposed to pick me up around 5:40 a.m. ACK! (My flight was originally supposed to leave around 10 a.m., and then they changed it to 8 a.m.!) So I guess I'll be getting up at 4 tomorrow.
Really looking forward to the trip, and to seeing so many of my friends. I'll be moderating one panel:
Scare Me To Death: Making Old Monsters New Again
Saturday 10 a.m.
Panelists: Debra Doyle,
inkandchocolate,
harmonyfb
I'm not bringing a computer, so I probably won't be online much until I get home on Monday.
On this week's Ryan's Hope...
Goodbye John Blazo, Pat #2! Hello Pat #3, played by a guy whose name I can never remember! He's not very memorable. Maybe better looking than Blazo, but not a particularly good actor. Plus Adam Cohen is about to show up, and he is so very awesome, and Pat #3 is so very not.
I found Seneca's alcohol-fueled attempted rape of Jill even more painful to watch this time around.
Weird that Joe Novak told Maeve of a still-living mother AND that Tiso had children. As far as I can recall, later Tiso is supposed to be childless, and a Joe mom never materializes. Generally they had this stuff in place when they started writing a character, so it surprised me. As usual, I'm finding Joe likable with everyone but Siobhan.
Joe: [flirty flirt flirt]
Siobhan: Meh.
Gwynnega: Run, Siobhan! Run like the wind!
