According to TV Guide, GH fired Stuart Damon this week, and Alan Quartermaine will be written off the show in February. Granted, they haven't given Alan Q. much to do for ages, but the better solution would've been to give the soap veteran something to work with. ::fumes::

I was totally having this whole discussion with my friend in email this morning!

Given *how* they're writing him off, it's kind of a relief. He hasn't had a story in ages, and this way, like Tony, he'll get a few nice days of flashbacks and fun things like that. I'm not looking forward to Emily's reaction, but I am interested to see Skye's and Jason's and Monica's and Edward's.

In the comments, someone's like "Jane Elliott and Tony Geary are next, gah!" but that seems like such an over-reaction since both of them have had tons of story.

I think it's a mixed bag. On the one hand, they've kept Monica and Alan around and recast Edward back to the one everyone liked. And both Monica and Alan have had interactions/reactions to Emily and Jason storylines.

But, yeah, when you look at how much story Tracy and Luke get, it's like, wow, you really can't do more with these awesome actors?

I will take death over really bad recast (*cough*Felicia*cough) ANY DAY. Though I'm still bitter they didn't kill Felicia during the epidemic.

Oh, no! I love Alan! I wish they had just given Damon more to work with--he still has what it takes, and they haven't given him a chance to show it since what, Emily's adoption. Hmph.

I'd forgotten the breast cancer storyline--you're right, that was good. But really, nothing beats the years of attempted multiple murder. Hilarious and deadly, that's my Alan. I'm going to miss him.

Oh, no, they fired Prince Charming?

He was always that to me.

NOOO! I cut my soap teeth on the whole "Who's AJ's Daddy?" arc. To this day I remember my civics teacher being impressed that I knew so much about the legal procedureal standards, from depositions to court appearances. Little did he know. Now *that* was some educational tee vee.
