A little late, but: happy birthday,

Two BPAL reviews from recently received frimps:
MIDNIGHT KISS
Eternal desire, unquenchable passion: red musk, cocoa absolute, Nepalese amber, red sandalwood, aged patchouli, nicotiana, and blood wine.
On me this smells almost exactly like Snake Oil, which is good, though not something I'm often in the mood to wear. Thankfully the patchouli doesn't come through at all.
DRINK ME
However, this bottle was not marked `poison,' so Alice ventured to taste it, and finding it very nice, (it had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavour of cherry-tart, custard, pine-apple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast,) she very soon finished it off.
A very sweet, light, cake-y scent, similar to Eat Me, but I like it better in theory than actually wearing it.

I finally got caught up with the Sarah Jane Adventures. I didn't love the first two eps, mainly because the Slitheen special effects looked so damn cheap and cheesy, and I was just tired of all the farting and the headmaster's Slitheen overacting. But I did get the shivers at the bit where the 12-year-old Slitheen's begging for his life, and Sarah Jane freezes, and the kid Slitheen dies screaming. I like that a kids' show is doing more than saying "Yay, killing!"
I adored the Gorgon eps, because they hit some of my Old School Who kinks: archaeology and mythology. (The Stones of Blood! Pyramids of Mars!) I loved loved loved Bea and her stories of Edgar and archaeology and the Sontarans. And you can't go wrong with Evil Nuns.
Overall, Sarah Jane is just magnificent. I liked her in the Classic series, but she's extra marvelous now. And the kids are terrific, especially Clyde.
