gwynnega: (Jack Fenelli)

Cons: I really wish I were going to Readercon. But the Dark Shadows con is this weekend in Burbank, so clearly I am meant to be in LA this weekend!

Writing: I know I keep saying this, but the chapter five revisions are really nearly done. I had fun working on 'em at lunchtime today. I've been feeling frustrated about lack of writing time lately, but then when I have a good writing day, I feel a lot better in general...

Lunch: Vegetable curry with tofu from the cafeteria. Pretty good.

Evil Idiocy: HHS Moves to Define Contraception as Abortion. Which proves, if it ever needed proving, that the agenda here is about controlling women, not "saving lives."

I wish I had a good segue between Evil Idiocy and soap operas. (Something about Guza, maybe?)

Soaps:

Ryan's Hope: When I watched these eps the first time, I kept thinking, "Okay, things can't possibly get worse with Jack and Mary. They're going to reunite Jack and Mary now. Uh...okay, maybe NOW? No? Wow, they really went there?" This time I'm just thoroughly enjoying (if that's the right word) the exquisite pain of this storyline.

Also enjoying watching the slow slide into crapitude of the life of Pat Ryan, husband of Delia. I mean, I love Malcolm Groome's Pat (though he is a dope). And the scene where Frank storms into Delia and Pat's apartment to claim Little John was priceless. And today's scene with Roger and Faith sharing vodka and caviar and discussing their lack of Delia and Pat--I just wanted to climb into the TV and hang out with them!

GH continues to mostly suck, but it does appear TPTB know what they've got with Spinelli/Maxie. Their sex scene was refreshingly awkward and unchoreographed, and the aftermath--Maxie asking if Spin's okay, apologizing to him for "using him," hugging him and calling him wonderful and not wanting anything to wreck their friendship--rang painfully true. I just hope it's not too long before Maxie realizes how much she loves the guy. And the Jason-Spinelli friendship scenes were gold--Steve Burton just lights up in his scenes with Bradford Anderson.

Meanwhile, I am pretty sure the upcoming Laura scenes will all be in deranged Lulu's head, which pisses me off royally.

GH Nightshift S2 (upcoming): This, from Serial Drama, made me giggle uncontrollably, especially "Tristan Rogers is not, as I recall from his five minutes of screentime a year or more ago, a reanimated corpse."
