horsies in Hollywood

So this evening, driving home from work, I happened to see two policemen on horseback cross Sunset Blvd while I waited at the light. "Horsies!" I said delightedly as they trotted down Wilcox.

A couple of minutes later when I turned onto Franklin, there were two more horses on a sort of dirt incline, and beside them, two cops on foot arresting a skinny white guy next to a U-Haul. "Huh," I said.

You don't see that everyday, at least not in LA. Why the horses, I wonder?

If this was around Franklin, maybe bad guys were doing stuff in the hills around there.

Could be, though I was down by the freeway onramp, so it would've been kind of a trek for the horses...

It seems so Wild West, somehow.

It was somehow less distressing to see cops arresting someone with a couple of horses nearby instead of a police car--though the arrestee probably didn't feel that way... :-)
