Last night I listened to Obama's speech on my way home from work (and caught the last bit on TV when I got home). I was impressed and inspired, moved by the historical moment, full of hope for the future of the country.

Then this morning...

McCain: I'd like to present my inexperienced, anti-choice VP. She has girly parts! Isn't she great?

I am still floored by this. Sure she had the cred to bring back the religious right, but so do the majority of repulicans. Do they really think that they're going to support any Hillary supporters with her stance on the issues.

I *suppose* it's a measure of progress that we girly-parts-having Americans are suddenly deserving of pandering tokenism. Not so long ago they wouldn't have bothered.

At least we won't have to hear the "experience" argument so much any more.

Man, do I agree with you in your headdesking. The Daily Show tonight is doing an AMAZING commentary on McCain's choice of Palin including the coining of the new, genius term -- "Vagina-American". Because we vote with our lady parts, not our brains! URGH.
