almost the weekend

It's been a long and stressful week. In slightly less than three hours, my weekend will begin, hooray!
Last night I went to Palermo for Adam's birthday dinner. There was much pizza, and then for dessert there were the best cupcakes on the planet. Seriously, I had a red velvet one, and it was like crack (and I'm not usually a cupcake enthusiast). I may have to visit this cupcake place again SOON.
Speaking of crack, when I got home from the restaurant around 10:30, I found the Garage Kitty sitting on the hood of the car next to The Place Where the Food Goes, and she was still waiting for me, even though another of her minions had left her a full bowl of dry food. She was apparently holding out for The Good Stuff. So I gave her the kitty crack that is Fancy Feast.
This weekend I will try to make some headway with chapter thirteen, and I also want to lie around reading (Palimpsest and Sherman Alexie's Flight). Sunday will be Henna Day.
On this week's Ryan's Hope:
I had forgotten about Siobhan mentioning Frank's Other Son to a newswoman. Gah, I was cringing the whole time Maeve barely managed to evade the TV interviewer's question about Frank's TWO sons. Though the funniest moment was Delia showing up in the Ryan kitchen to wave her ginormous engagement ring under Maeve's nose just when Maeve was about to go on TV!
Poor Siobhan, recipient of Mary #3's and Maeve's wrath. But Jack stands up for her! Today Mary #3 tells Jack, "I feel like you're taking Siobhan's side." Get used to that feeling, Mary. It's not going away any time soon. Come to think of it, I can't think of a single instance when Jack doesn't take Siobhan's side over Mary from this week forward.
Meanwhile, Tom continues to be batshit crazy! Hooray.

Date: 2009-03-09 02:29 pm (UTC)Now watching GH. If Kate really gave a damn, she'd tell Sonny the Michael truth right away...wouldn't she???!!
Also, don't get me wrong, I love V8 Fusion, but WTF is with the product placement???

Date: 2009-03-09 06:03 pm (UTC)Poor Kate has been sacrificed on the altar of Sonny/Claudia.
For some reason they do this big Campbells thing on the ABC soaps every year. No surprise, only OLTL did a good job with it with the Go Red Ball...

Date: 2009-03-15 12:37 am (UTC)Finally caught up yesterday. I am actually beginning to think it's poor Carly who got sacrificed for Claurly.
What we are seeing is SO recycled. As good as Sarah Brown can be, she's hitting one note here on GH.
I wonder if the character of Kate is even long for the show? Maybe they can just have Laura come back and reopen Deception...

Date: 2009-03-15 12:44 am (UTC)The only part of yesterday's show I liked was Spinelli/Maxie.
The good news is that GH's ratings just hit an all-time low. Maybe now they'll get rid of Guza.
