This reads like an Onion article, but it's not.

Post-abortive men?!?

"'We had abortions,' say men whose lovers ended pregnancies. It isn't just a women's trauma, they insist. But critics see a political calculation..."

Too bad it's too late to abort these losers.

Ah, jeez. That's just as silly as when men say "we're pregnant" when their sad little seed finds purchase. If mpreg were a real deal, there'd be abortion clinics on every corner.

Wow. I don't even know what to say here. In some ways I can support the use of "we," since we accept that cancer and addictions and so forth impact more than the person with cancer or an addiction. Having one's fetus aborted, whether one is the mother or the father, could be considered the same kind of thing. The political leverage here aside, I don't know that another parallel example--"we were raped" from a man whose girlfriend or wife was attacked--would work.

But I dunno, really. I sure don't like the idea of someone horning in on an experience that they could not physically share, especially if it's in some effort to ban abortions.
