this week's Ryan's Hope

The scene where Barry talks about his time riding boxcars with Ken in the aftermath of one of Barry's marriage breakups is 1) one of the great scenes in the history of Ryan's Hope and 2) the slashiest thing in slashonia. Especially the bit when Barry tearfully says that Ken "gave me back my life." Richard Backus acts the hell out of the scene, but the dialogue is also fantastically good.

I love how even Delia knows that the one Barry really cares about is Ken.

I'm enjoying the fallout of Frank finally finding out about the Jill/Ken affair. And in spite of her deviousness, I think Kim is at her most sympathetic right now, having an abortion behind Controlling!Seneca's back...

I can't wait to see that! I'm about 10 eps behind. Just watching the aftermath of the bar holdup. The actor who holds the knife on everyone went on to be on OZ, and he lived in my old nabe in the W Village — I used to see him all the time, walking a mangy poodle, shuffling along in carpet slippers.
